SGT Jordan M Shay Memorial Foundation

Supporting Amesbury schools, students and Veterans

The SGT Jordan M Shay Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that honors the last wish of SGT Jordan M Shay.

Jordan was raised in Amesbury and graduated from Amesbury High School in 2005. He enlisted in the US Army the following year. Jordan lost his life in Iraq during his second deployment. In a “just in case letter,” he stated that if something should happen to him that he’d like a scholarship fund started in his name. He wrote it should benefit students who “want to make a difference in the world.” After Jordan’s death, we partnered with the Amesbury Educational Foundation, Inc. to honor his wish.

In 2017, we decided to expand and grow Jordan’s wish and become an independent nonprofit that allows us to help not only the Amesbury Public Schools, but local Veterans as well.

Since 2009, the foundation has awarded over $295,000 to Amesbury school students, teachers & Veterans in the Amesbury area through scholarships and creative projects.

We continue to be grateful for the generosity and support we have received from Amesbury and the surrounding communities. You always comfort and inspire us and you have helped us to build and amazing and long lasting legacy for Jordan.

Thank you.
